Connecting Your Future
Machine Tool Technology
The Gillette College Machine Tool AAS program allows students to gain a broader knowledge and to achieve a higher skill level in machining than is offered in the one-year certificate program. Students are required to develop advanced skills in planning, designing, producing CAD prints, and setting up and operating machine tools to produce precision parts to specifications.
This program is designed to prepare students for success in a number of career pathways. Our small class sizes and experienced faculty provide students with the individualized attention they need to succeed. Our students also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on projects and internships. If you are interested in a technical career in Machine Tool Technology, Gillette College is a great option.
Why Choose the Gillette College Machine Tool Technology Program?
- Experienced faculty: Our committed faculty members have a dedicated manufacturing industry advisory committee that provide internship opportunities to students in the machine tool technology program. This connection bridges the gap between college and career. Most machine tool technology students are linked up with an employer before the second semester and gain full-time employment before second year.
- Small class sizes: Our small class sizes allow for more individualized attention. Students have the opportunity to ask questions and get help from the instructor when they need it.
- Scholarship Opportunities: Gillette College is a dedicated HTEC member and applies for “The Gene Haas Foundation’s Manufacturing Scholarship Grant” with the primary goal of building skills in the manufacturing industry by providing scholarships for CNC machine technology students. These funds go directly to machine tool technology degree seeking students.
- High success rate: Our students have a high chance of landing good, high-paying career jobs. Upon graduation, you can pursue exciting opportunities as a technician in a number of industries. Upon completing the AAS degree program, students have the necessary skills to become employed as an entry-level machinist or a CNC technician.
Join our SkillsUSA Team!
Technical students also compete in SkillsUSA competitions on the Wyoming state and national levels, giving you opportunities to showcase your skills and knowledge.
Students earning gold medals at the Wyoming State SkillsUSA Conference advance to the National SkillsUSA Conference that is currently held in Atlanta Georgia.

Careers & Opportunities
Our instructors have years of experience working in the technical industry, which they bring to the classroom. This means that students will learn not only theoretical principles but also how to apply them to real-world problems such as interpreting information, producing parts from a blueprint, and performing programming and setup procedures on a computer numerical controlled machine.
