Due to her determination and remarkable commitment to learning and academic success, Georgia Ostrowski, a first-year welding student, has been selected as the Gillette College April 2024 Student Success spotlight.
With excellent attendance and determination, Georgia has shown an eagerness to learn and a passion for education that is truly inspiring. She has exemplified maturity and discipline and has taken on a leadership role among her fellow students.
In addition to her academic achievements, Georgia is committed to being involved in the program, school, and community. She is an active member of Skills USA and Student Government and volunteers at Ava Arts Center.
“Georgia has the patience, the skills, the ability to think critically, and the leadership qualities needed to succeed and make them a valuable resource to our industry,” stated Troy Miller, a welding instructor at Gillette College. As she continues on her educational journey, we do not doubt that she will continue to achieve great things.
Georgia also won the Career and Technical Education Student-of-the-Year award. She was recognized for that achievement at the Student Involvement Banquet on April 21 and at the Board of Trustees meeting on April 15.
