Computer Specialist Tyler Buchanan, Recognized as Staff Spotlight for October
Renee Collins, IT Director at Gillette College, has selected Tyler Buchanan, Computer Specialist at Gillette College, as the nominee for the Staff Spotlight of October 2024. 
Tyler Buchanan recently celebrated his first anniversary with Gillette College. Before joining the staff, Tyler was a student at GCCD and graduated in 2023 with an associate’s degree in network administration.
Renee commended Tyler’s contributions, stating, “Coming into the ITS department in the midst of a transition/migration from Sheridan College provided him exposure to a complicated environment with a lot of opportunities.”
When asked about the most surprising aspect of his job, Tyler mentioned that “talking with people” was unexpected. He emphasized the importance of customer service and building relationships for the department’s success.
Tyler’s expertise has been instrumental in the migration work undertaken by the department, including classroom and computer lab migrations, as well as deploying Gillette College computers to staff and faculty. His dedication and contributions make him a valuable asset to the IT department at Gillette College.
