February 2025: Faculty Spotlight

Megan Rourke,Mathematics Instructor, Nominated for Faculty Spotlight of February 2025

Dr. Martin Fashbaugh, Dean of Arts & Sciences, has nominated Megan Rourke, a Mathematics Faculty Member, for the Faculty Spotlight for February 2025.

Megan Rourke has been a valued member of the Gillette College faculty since 2011. Before GCCD, she gained extensive teaching experience, which contributed significantly to her role on various committees and initiatives at the institution. Megan is a member of the math faculty and the chair of the Assessment and Standards Committee, which plays a vital role as GCCD pursues accreditation.

When asked why Dean Fashbaugh nominated Megan this month, he said, “I nominated Megan for recognition because of her highly personable and innovative teaching methods and her great dedication to the success of our students and faculty. Her leadership and unwavering commitment to institutional development and community engagement make her an invaluable asset to Gillette College.”

Megan’s commitment to constantly improving GCCD is apparent in her work on and off campus. She is a chair of a committee, serves on two others, mentors new faculty members, and assists with local math competitions and teams. We are fortunate to have her as a faculty member at Gillette College, impressing upon and setting an excellent example for our students.
