Mia Blinkinsop, recognized as February’s Student Success Story
In the heart of Gillette College, one student is shining brightly this February 2025. Mia Blinkinsop has been named the Student Success Story of the Month, recognized for her remarkable achievements and unwavering commitment to her education and community.
Mia’s journey at Gillette College is nothing short of inspiring. Nominated by her English instructor and Creative Writing Club advisor, Lisa Arhart, she has significantly impacted classrooms and campus. Arhart remarked, “I have had the pleasure of working with her in the classroom and out. She is a delight.” This sentiment echoes the experience of many who have had the opportunity to work alongside Mia.
When asked about her choice to attend Gillette College, Mia expressed her enthusiasm for the myriad of opportunities available. “I choose Gillette College because there are so many opportunities here. And once I was invited back for ECV (Energy City Voices), I just knew I had to be the most involved I can be, and it honestly has given me so much opportunity to grow as a person.” Her commitment to personal and professional development is evident in her impressive array of involvements.
Mia ambitiously pursues a double major in English and Computer Science, showcasing her diverse interests and talents. In addition to her studies at Gillette College, she is also enrolled in online courses at the University of Wyoming. She is on track to graduate with a bachelor’s in Psychology this spring from UW. Balancing these challenging disciplines while maintaining her active involvement in campus life is a testament to her dedication and work ethic.
Beyond academics, Mia is a notable leader on campus. She serves as the Creative Writing Club’s president, fostering a love for literature and creativity among her peers. As a liaison for the Student Senate, Mia plays a vital role in representing student interests and facilitating communication within the college community. Additionally, her membership in Energy City Voices allows her to connect with fellow students and engage in meaningful discussions about local and global issues.
