Am I considered an international student?

International students are non-US resident applicants who want to live and study in the United States.

I have my Green Card. Am I still an international student?

No, if you have been issued a Green Card, you are not considered an international student. However, you must provide a copy of your Green Card to the DSO.

Is there an admissions deadline?

The deadline to submit all necessary documents required for admission are:

  • July 15-Fall Term
  • December 1-Spring Term 
I attended a higher education institution after completing my post-secondary education. Can I apply as a first-year student, even if I only have a few credits?

No. Anyone who attended a higher education institution after completing high school/post-secondary school must apply as a transfer student.

How do I submit official transcripts?

Transcripts must come directly from the institution to the Gillette College DSO via an official institution email or mailed in a sealed envelope.

All transcripts must have all signatures from the sending institution to be considered official. 

What is a PDSO & DSO?

As an international student, am I required to pay US Federal taxes?

Scholarships that exceed tuition and books are considered taxable income for the recipient. Gillette College/NWCCD must withhold 14% tax on the portion of a scholarship that exceeds a nonresident alien’s tuition and books. Additional information can be found in IRS Publication 970.

A Sprintax Profile will be provided to the student via email from the NWCCD Business Office after arriving on campus. The profile must be completed within five days of receiving the original email.
